"INSPIRE THEM YOUNG" INITIATIVE FOR IMPROVED ACCESS TO FUTURE LIFE SCIENCE LEADERSHIP TALENT

A study conducted by Albright Partners A/S with more than 100 participating Senior Executives from the Life Science industry in Denmark revealed that ”insufficient access to talent” is perceived to be among the biggest barriers to future growth. Across genders, but most notably among female talent, there is an unmet need in educating more skilled professionals within the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) – and especially within nature- and medical science.

The ability to impact the younger generation and students – already from primary school through to high school – is key to building a future pipeline of skilled STEM candidates and leadership talent that will bridge the talent- and capability gaps threatening the Life Science industry. The “Inspire Them Young” initiative addresses this very issue by supporting initiatives that motivate and inspire younger generations to pursue academic and leadership tracks in line with the future capability needs within pharma, biotech, medtech and life sciences.

AMBITION OF THE "INSPIRE THEM YOUNG" INITIATIVE

The “Inspire them young” initiative includes the following three key activities:

1. Promoting investigation and inquiry-based science teaching in primary- and high schools

Inspired by the Nobel Prize winner Georges Charpak, the ”Inspire Them Young” initiative promotes investigation and inquiry-based science teaching in primary schools and in high schools.

The approach is designed to ensure improved student learning and motivation through increased student/teacher interaction and a unique combination of tactile and visualisation tools and processes.

2. Fueling leadership aspirations among younger Life Science professionals

With the ambition of contributing to the development of the next generation of leaders, the "Inspire Them Young" initiative support inspirational professionals and initiatives that promote the pursuit of a leadership track among young Life Science talent and/or inspire female talent to pursue a career in leadership.

3. Building a bridge between academia and the Life Science industry

Supporting initiatives that create a bond between academia and the Life Science industry.
